FLOODING
If you have been affected by flooding recently, or have noticed changes in waterways near your property, please do inform the Parish Council so we are aware of issues in the Parish and can pass on this information to Herefordshire Council to form a clear picture of how flooding is changing year on year in the county.

Please remember that the Parish Council owns a water pump and hoses, as well as flood sacks which, as a resident, you are welcome to use should you have need across your property.

Our contact is via the Parish Clerk: clerk@peterstowparishcouncil.org.uk

Other useful contacts: Flood alerts: Floodline 0345 988 1188.  Sign up to get Flood Warnings from gov.uk by phone, email or text message. If you live by a river or stream, keep a watch on current and expected water levels. You can see the actual water levels at different locations in the county

More information and advice can be found here: www.herefordshire.gov.uk/storm.

DOGS ON THE COMMON
The Parish Council would like the Common to remain a space for all to use.  However, there has been an increase in dog waste left unattended on the Common recently, which caused problems for other Common users, wildlife and our Lengthsman who maintains the Common on our behalf.
We will be monitoring the Common and should dog waste continue to be left on the Common we will be forced to introduce a “dogs on leads, remaining on the road” policy across the Common.  Please help to keep our Common a pleasant space for all to utilise.

A49 SPEED MANAGEMENT
The Speed Indicator Devices at either end of the village required repair recently, which has been quite costly.  I am sure that all residents will agree that the devices are an essential part of the speed management programme to keep road users aware of the lower speed required through the village.

The Parish Council carries out Speed Watch checks to provide National Highways and the Police with information to monitor the A49 in this area.  We are looking for 2 additional volunteers to help with this occasional but vital work.  Training will be given.

PARISH COUNCIL VACANCIES
We currently have 2 vacancies on the Parish Council and would be delighted to hear from residents able to devote a small amount of time to help the Council continue to improve our facilities and environment on behalf of local residents.  Meetings are held 6 times a year.

PARISH COUNCIL MEETINGS
Members of the Parish are welcome to attend meetings and raise issues with the Council.
Our next meeting is on Wednesday 15th January at 7pm in St Peter’s Hall (Church).
